  • Grace was told that she had to eat a handful of grapes in order to have some cheese puffs. She put her head down and said through her teeth "I wish I had smaller hands."

I asked Cana if she had a kiss for me and she said "No they are all gone, Cozmo ate them."

Cana was laying in bed with me snuggling and she said "Mommy, your eyebrows look like rainbows." I laughed. So she said it again and I did not laugh. So she said it a third time "Mommy your eyebrows look like rainbows, now laugh."

  • a funny stories, what else?

Eden was battling me over wearing a winter coat. I explained that she had a cold and she had to wear her puffy coat. She said that she didn't have a cold it was just allergic to something. I said, "You are? What are you allergic to?" She looked around the room and up to the ceiling and said "Fans, I'm allergic to fans."

Grace was concerned about one of her friends who was upset. She said "Mom, sometimes I don't know how, but I can feel other people's feelings." That my friends is what we in the counseling world call empathy. She is so kind.

Eden asked if she could watch a show. I said, yes. So, we were sitting on the couch and I was asking her about her day at preschool and she was telling me.Then, she stopped mid-sentence and said "I thought you said I could watch a show. I told that she can, I was just listening to her talk about her day. She turned her head towards the TV and said "The End." "Now, can I watch a show?"

The other night we were sitting at the dinner table and Isaac was saying that everywhere he goes there are boys named Isaac. I said that I was sorry, I didn't know any Isaac's when I named him that and I wish we would have named him something else. To which he replied "Yeah, you should have named me, DAN."

The family was driving by KFC and Cana excitedly pointed at the sign and said "Yooky, yooky!! Picture Daddy. Picture Daddy." I never noticed how much Jesse and the colonel looked alike.

  • I walked into Wal-mart with  all the kids yesterday and went to a get a cart. All of a sudden my olfactory system was invaded by the pleasant smell of an older gentleman. I was immediately transported to my grandpa's house at the age of 7. I honestly wanted to walk up to this man and take a deep breath so that they memories of a fun time in my life would remain just a little longer. There was both sadness and joy in these memories. Although my grandpa is still alive, his activity in my life has slowly dwindled to a yearly ecard sent by his wife- here lies the saddness. But, the joyful memoreis that came to my mind were: fireball candy, coins from his car being thrown on the floor for us to scramble for and collect, funny songs from the 1940's, feeding ducks, McDonald's ice cream cones, an 8 hour road trip to Philadelphia with 3 elementary age children and sleeping in  his white v-neck undershirts. Nothing he did for us cost him much other than time, the very thing there now doesn't seem to be enough of. -All this from a smell.

    Read It!

I just finished reading the best book I have ever read. It is simply called The Shack by William P Young. It is the story of a man's journey to find freedom from the Great Saddness has overtaken his life after his daughter's tragic death. God pursues and reveals himself to the main character "Mack"  in the most amazing ways. I cried, I laughed, I felt compelled to pray. The author packs an unbelievable amount of theology in a story within dialogue. I feel like I have just a pinhole more of the understanding of God's character and the many facets of his character. What an amazing God who works to redeem even the biggest mistakes and the most evil of sins! That I may know him more and reflect even a glimmer of who he is to the world. Praise you, Lord!

  • Eden is having a great time in Ohio. Thank you for all who prayed for her. We were planning a rescue mission which we now do not have to execute. I believe this is an answer to prayer.
